Springfield, Mo. – Evangel played their first Heart of America game at home in 2015 and defeated Benedictine with ease 3-0 (25-14, 25-13, 25-4) Saturday at the Ashcroft Center.
The ninth ranked Crusaders ran their record to an unbeaten 16-0 and 3-0 in the Heart of America conference.
Senior outside hitter Haley Watson led the Crusaders with 14 kills in the three sets. Watson recorded 13 kills in a four set match at Baker Thursday giving her 27 on the week. Senior libero Morgan Smith added 16 digs and junior Allie Dunton added 12 digs. Junior Middle Block Morgan Kensinger posted seven blocks and four kills.
Benedictine fell to 4-7 and 0-3 in the confernece.
Evangel will be in action again Tuesday when they travel to Lamoni, Iowa to play Graceland conference match. Game time is 7:30pm at the Closson Center.
