Baldwin City, Kan. – Ninth ranked Evangel rebounded from a first set loss to beat Baker 3-1 (17-25, 25-19, 25-17, 25-16) Thursday in Baldwin City, Kansas.
After dropping the first set 25-19 the Crusaders won the next three sets to stay unbeaten 15-0 and 2-0 in the Heart of America conference.
Senior outside hitter Haley Watson led the Crusaders with 13 kills, senior Micah Guiot and junior Jackie Fugate both added 12 kills. Senior libero Morgan Smith added 20 digs while junior middle block Morgan Kensinger recorded four blocks. Senior setter Maddie Baumann had 24 assists in the win.
Baker dropped to 8-7 and 1-2 with the loss.
Evangel will be in action again Saturday when they host conference opponent Benedictine at the Ashcroft Center for a 2 p.m. match.
