Mishawaka, Ind. – The Evangel volleyball team won both matches on Saturday at Gates Gymnasium to finish 4-0 at the Bethel (Ind.) Tournament.
The Crusaders won their first match against Warner (Fla.) 3-0 (25-17, 25-18, 25-17) improving to 3-0.
Junior middle blocker Morgan Kensinger led the Crusaders with eight kills and eight blocks while junior defensive specialist Brianna Justis led Evangel with 16 digs.
Evangel won the second match against Northwestern Ohio in straight sets 25-18, 25-15, 25-23.
The Crusaders were led by senior outside hitter Micah Guiot with nine kills while Morgan Kensinger added six blocks and Senior libero Morgan Smith added 12 digs in the win.
The wins helped Evangel start the 2015 season 4-0 and was the only team to go undefeated in the Bethel Tournament.
The Crusaders resume action on Saturday, August 29th when they travel to Canton, Missouri to open conference play against Culver-Stockton. Game time is 6:00pm.
