Mishawaka, Ind. – The Evangel volleyball team opened the 2015 campaign with two wins at the Bethel (Ind.) Tournament Friday in Mishawaka, Indiana. The Crusaders defeated Doane (Neb.) 3-1 and got a 3-0 win over host Bethel.
The Crusaders dropped the first set against Doane in extras 26-24 but rebounded to win the next three straight sets 27-25, 26-24, and 25-15.
Evangel won their second match in straight sets over Bethel 25-23, 25-11, 25-19.
The wins helped Evangel start the 2015 season 2-0.
The Crusaders resume action Saturday at the Bethel Tournament when they face Warner (Fla.) at 9:00am and the University of Northwestern Ohio at 1:00pm Central Time.
