Springfield, Mo. – The Evangel men's basketball returns to action the day after Thanksgiving in the first of two games in the Colorado School of the Mines Classic in Golden, Colorado.
On Friday, the Crusaders take on Colorado School of the Mines at 7 p.m. and Saturday Evangel faces another NCAA-II opponent, Fort Lewis (Colo.) at 5 p.m.
The Crusaders are 1-4 and coming off of their first win the season, a 72-63 win over Grand View on Saturday. Both meetings against the NCAA-II opponents are the first games in program history against each team.
The Orediggers of Colorado School of the Mines are 2-1 entering their game Wednesday against Nebraska-Kearney and are ranked 22nd in the NCAA-II NABC coaches' poll. Fort Lewis is off to a 3-0 start and their record doesn't include an exhibition win at Wyoming (NCAA-I), 77-69 in overtime.
Both games for Evangel will count as regular season games for the Crusaders.
Evangel is back at home on Wednesday, Dec. 2 in a Heart of America conference game against Baker for a 7:30 p.m. tipoff at the Ashcroft Center.
