EU opens Heart of America schedule at CMU: Evangel looks for their first win of 2015-16 as they open Heart of America conference play Wednesday at Central Methodist. 

The Crusaders are 0-3 with road losses at 18th ranked Campbellsville 85-67, at 21st ranked (NAIA-II) Robert Morris (Ill.) 81-79 and at College of the Ozarks 89-86. Evangel has yet to play a home game. Wednesday's game starts Evangel's title defense as they enter the year defending Heart of America champions. 

Central Methodist is 2-2 and coming off of a win over Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) 73-69 on Saturday. The Eagles went 20-12 last year and finished seventh in the conference with a 9-9 league record. 

Evangel leads the all-time series against Central Methodist 41-25 and went 2-0 against the Eagles last year winning 87-68 in Fayette and 71-66 at the Ashcroft Center. 

Wednesday's game marks the first full date of games in the Heart of America conference as the league launches into a 22-game schedule that features 12 conference teams. Grand View and William Penn are in their first seasons as members of the Heart of America conference.
