Springfield, Mo. – Evangel women's soccer fell in Heart of America conference play on Saturday afternoon falling 6-0 to Avila in their first ever homecoming game.
Avila broke through just over halfway through the first half scoring three goals in seven minutes. The Eagles followed it up with three goals in the second half. Caroline Hayes led the way for the Eagles, with two goals and an assist. Alyssa Parsells added a goal and an assist for Avila. Evangel's best chance came through a Courtney Hepola cross into Rebekah Pell, who had a shot saved and a rebound shot put wide.
With the loss, Evangel's record drops to 0-10 and 0-5 in the Heart of America conference. Avila improved to 4-6-2, and 2-3 in the conference.
Evangel is back in action on Tuesday, October 6th when they travel to Conway, Arkansas to play NCAA-III Hendrix (Ark.). Kickoff is scheduled for 6:00pm.
