Point Lookout, Mo. – The Evangel volleyball team defeated College of the Ozarks 3-1 (25-16, 20-25, 25-21, 25-19) in a non-conference matchup at Keeter Gymnasium Tuesday night.
The 13th ranked Crusaders improved their record to 34-3 on the season with two games remaining in the regular season.
Senior outside hitter Micah Guiot and junior Jackie Fugate led the charge for the Crusaders with 15 kills each, Fugate also added a team high six blocks. Senior libero Morgan Smith added a match high 38 digs and senior setter Maddie Baumann led Evangel with 25 assists.
The Crusaders are 12-3 against College of the Ozarks dating back to 2007 and have won 10 of the last 11 matchups. College of the Ozarks fell to 15-16 on the season.
Evangel will be in action again Thursday when the host #24 Grand View University in a Heart of America conference matchup at the Ashcroft Center. The match is the final regular season home game for the Crusaders and evangel will honor seven seniors before the game. Game time is scheduled for 7:00pm.
