Fulton, Mo. - Evangel went 2-0 Saturday at the William Woods Triangular beating Lawrence Tech 3-0 and host William Woods 3-2 to improve to 33-3 on the season.
Evangel downed Lawrence Tech (Mich.) 3-0 (25-12, 25-10, and 25-15) in the first match of the day.
Junior middle block Morgan Kensinger led the Crusaders with 13 kills and 8 blocks and senior outside hitter Micah Guiot added 11 kills. Senior libero Morgan Smith added 12 digs and two service aces and senior setter Chloe Hadley added 17 assists in the win.
Evangel beat William Woods (Mo.) in the second match 3-2 (25-19, 19-25, 25-13, 22-25, and 15-10). It was only the second match of the season to go five sets for the Crusaders. The other a 3-2 loss to then #2 Viterbo (Wis.) on October 9th.
Morgan Kensinger led Evangel again in the second match with 13 more kills and added six blocks. Junior Jackie Fugate added 11 kills and six blocks for Evangel. Chloe Hadley recorded 19 assists and Morgan Smith added 22 digs in the win.
Lawrence Tech dropped to 8-24 on the season and William Woods fell to 22-11.
Evangel will be in action again Tuesday October 27th when they travel to Point Lookout, Missouri to face College of the Ozarks at 7:00 pm at Keeter Gymnasium.
