Springfield, Mo. – Evangel women's soccer fell in Heart of America conference play on Saturday evening falling to Culver-Stockton 5-1.
Evangel took the lead early through a counterattack in the 6th minute. Samantha Miller crossed to Courtney Hepola who hit a strike from the left flank into the right corner for her second goal of the season.
Culver-Stockton would score five unanswered to take back the lead and the game. Kira McGrotty would score the first two for the Wildcats, giving them a 2-1 lead at halftime. Brittney McMahon, Stephanie Adelmann, and Bri Johnson all scored in the second half to put the game away.
With the loss, Evangel's record drops to 0-12 and 0-6 in the Heart of America conference. Culver-Stockton improved to 8-3-1 and 3-2 in the conference.
Evangel is back in action on Wednesday, October 14th, when they travel to Marshall, Missouri for a Heart of America Conference matchup with the 19th-ranked Missouri Valley Vikings. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:00pm.
