The Evangel Volleyball split their opening day games at the Morningside University Tournament in Sioux City, Iowa on Friday.
The Crusaders dropped the first match verses Briar Cliff University (Iowa) 3-2. Jackie Fugate had 14 kills and 5 blocks for the Crusaders in the loss, and Haley Watson added 14 kills of her own. Evangel bounced back to win in straight sets verses Mayville State (N.D.). Four players had 6 kills apiece and Jackie Fugate added 5 blocks to go along with her 6 kills in the win.
The Crusaders are in action again on Saturday Aug. 23 when they take on host Morningside (Iowa) at Noon and Valley City State at 2:00pm.
