Bourbonnais, Ill. -- Evangel men's basketball handed Olivet Nazarene with their first loss of the season with a 75-73 overtime win in Bourbonnais, Illinois Saturday.
Evangel guard Nick Yocum scored seven of his game high 17 points in the overtime period to lead Evangel while Brodie Wingert added 16 points and Korry Tillery posted a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
The Crusaders led 33-28 at halftime after trailing 20-11 midway through the half. Evangel led throughout the second half but Olivet Nazarene tied the game at 64 with 30 seconds left in regulation on a basket in the lane by Zach Wagner.
Wagner led the Tigers with 16 points.
Evangel outscored Olivet Nazarene 11-9 in the overtime period.
The Crusaders, who were playing their first game since Nov. 11, improved to 2-3 while Olivet Nazarene dropped to 5-1.
Evangel is idle until Dec. 4 when they open Heart of America conference play at home against Avila. Game time is 7:30 p.m. in the Ashcroft Center.
