Springfield, Mo. – Evangel advanced to the Heart of America conference championship game Saturday with a 3-0 semifinals win over Graceland Wednesday night at the Ashcroft Center.

The Crusaders won by double-digits in the first two sets winning 25-11 in the first and 25-14 in the second set. They closed out the match winning the third set 25-19.

Sophomore middle blocker Jackie Fugate led the Crusaders with 10 kills and five blocks. Junior outside hitter Haley Watson added nine kills and four blocks and sophomore Morgan Kensinger also registered nine kills and four blocks.

Evangel improved to 24-11 while the Yellowjackets ended their season with a 25-8 record.

The Crusaders advance to the tournament championship game Saturday were they will play MidAmerica Nazarene University in Olathe, Kansas.
