Joshua Saak enters his third season as an assistant coach with the Track and Field program and the Cross Country program. 

Saak has helped grow the Valor Track and Field team, as well as the Cross Country squad, being named as the KCAC Assistant Coach of the Year for Indoor Track and Field in 2023-24.

Saak came to Evangel as a football student-athlete in 2018 where he played wide receiver all four years for the Valor. After his football career ended, he was brought on in a part-time position as an assistant coach with the Track and Field program while he finished up his schooling; taking over sprints, relays, and pole vault.

Upon graduating in 2022 with a Bachelors of Science in Physical Education and a minor in Coaching, Saak was brought into a full-time assistant coaching position to assist Staley with the Track and Field program. In his first season, Saak coached two NAIA National Championship Qualifiers.

Originating from Granger, Iowa, Saak enjoyed a prep career at Woodward-Granger High School. Saak and his wife now reside in Springfield.
