Jon Jenkins has served as head coach of the Evangel University men’s and women’s golf programs since the 2016-17 season.

Under his leadership, the Valor women finished as conference runner-up in 2025-26. Catherine Rhoads captured the individual conference championship—the first in program history—and was named KCAC Women’s Golf Player of the Year. Sophie Nall earned Freshman of the Year honors, and the team was recognized as the KCAC Team of Character. Jenkins was named KCAC Women’s Golf Coach of the Year.

On the men’s side, the program has remained competitive in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference while developing a culture focused on character, improvement, and leadership.

Jenkins began coaching at Evangel in 2015-16 as an assistant before assuming the head role the following year. He has been employed at the university since 2009 in roles that include residence director, admissions counselor, and financial aid/scholarship specialist. Prior to joining Evangel, he worked as an assistant golf professional at Hickory Hills Country Club in Springfield.

A 2002 Evangel graduate with a degree in psychology, Jenkins competed for both the basketball and golf teams as a student-athlete. He later earned a Master of Organizational Leadership from Evangel in 2013.

Jenkins and his wife, Amber, have one son and two daughters.
