Schmidt, the Missoula, Montana native, coached at Trinity Bible College and Hardin High School, where he produced Hardin’s first win in four seasons, before joining the Valor Football staff. Schmidt played collegiately on the defensive and offensive lines from 06-09 with Trinity Bible College. Over his coaching career, Schmidt has coached 4 NCCAA All-Americans as well as 24 high school Defensive All-Conference players. Schmidt and his wife Kaitlyn were married in 2011 and recently welcomed their son, Ezra, in 2021.
