Frank Waters will enter his seventh season with the Evangel baseball team, his first as the Director of Baseball Operations.
Waters also helps the staff at US Baseball Park in Ozark, Missouri, with general turf and equipment repair.
A St. Louis, MO native, worked for City Utilities for 33 years as a Master Lead Mechanic here in Springfield, Missouri. He has over 40 years of mechanic experience with many accomplishments in the industry specializing in electronics, hydraulics, and pneumatics before retiring in 2015.
He got his start in baseball when his son, Harrison Waters, played for Republic High School from 2002 to 2006. It was during that time, he could be seen on the field hitting infield/outfield fungoes and throwing batting practice. Harrison went on to be a two-time First Team All-State player in 2005 and 2006 and Central Ozark Conference MVP in 2005. Republic would go on to win back-to-back conference titles during Waters 2005 and 2006 seasons. Harrison later went on to play for Drury University’s inaugural baseball team in 2006 to 2010 as a starting pitcher, and center fielder. Drury won the GLVC title and played in the NCAA Division II Regional in the 2007 season.
He’s been married for 40 years to his wife, Sherry. They have two children, Lacey and Harrison, along with five grandchildren.
