BARTLESVILLE, Okla. – Evangel Baseball hit the road on Tuesday (Mar. 31) afternoon, taking on the Oklahoma Wesleyan Eagles for the second of three matchups in their KCAC series.Â
Despite scoring eight runs in the top of the sixth, Evangel could not limit Oklahoma Wesleyan's offense, as the Eagles ultimately took a 19-9 win over EU in eight innings of play on Tuesday.
HOW IT HAPPENED

Evan Jno-Baptiste led off Tuesday with a solo home run on the third pitch of the game, giving EU a 1-0 lead.

Oklahoma Wesleyan responded by scoring seven runs over the first three innings of play, leading the Valor 7-1, heading into the sixth inning.

The Valor offense exploded in the top of the sixth, scoring eight runs to take a 9-7 lead. Quentin Edwards got the offense started with a solo shot, followed by a single from Justus Cherrico, walk from Kannon Perry, and double from Dylan Michaelson to score Cherrico. TJ Newman, who was running for Perry, scored on a sacrifice fly from Peyton Gayer, before Mason Reilly singled to score Michaelson. A single from Baptiste scored Reilly, while Nate Nunes and Cade Beshore both recorded base hits, allowing Evan to score. Edwards closed out scoring, adding a pair of runs to score both Nunes and Beshore, as the Valor led 9-7.

Evangel was unable to stop the Eagles from scoring over the final three innings of play, as OKWU plated 12 runs to take a 19-9 lead, resulting in a run-rule loss for EU in eight innings.

Six different Evangel athletes recorded a pair of hits in Tuesday's loss, with Quentin Edwards leading the offense with three RBIs.

Evangel sent 10 pitchers to the mound on Tuesday, as Brayden Epperhart, Isaac Daley, and Davin Sawyer all pitched an inning without allowing a run.
