WICHITA, Kan. – The Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference announced the 2025 KCAC Football Preseason Team on Wednesday (Aug. 13) morning. Six Evangel athletes earned spots on the teams, as Eric Williams II, Broc Lyle, Zach Myers, Kolton Banks, Javeon Turner, and Caleb Higginbottom were honored.

Valor senior Eric Williams finished his 2024 campaign with 1,077 rushing yards, the first Evangel player to rush for over 1,000 yards since Demetric Phillips did it in 2005. Williams averaged 107.7 rushing yards per game, which was first in the Kessinger division. 

Evangel junior Broc Lyle finished his sophomore campaign with 466 total receiving yards, averaging 51.8 yards per game, good for third in the division, while also reeling in eight touchdowns, tied for second in the Kessinger.

Graduate Zach Myers posted another strong season defensively in 2024, finishing with 44 total tackles and nine for loss, which was 10th in the division. 

Both Kolton Banks and Javeon Turner recorded limited time last season with injuries, but come into the 2025 campaign ready to make their mark on the defensive side of the ball, as both standouts recorded TFLs last season.

Rounding out honors was redshirt senior long snapper Caleb Higginbottom, who finished a successful 2024 season of snaps which led to 36 PATs and 14 FGs.

The Valor are projected to finish first in the Kessinger in the preseason media and coaches polls and open their season in Leavenworth, Kansas, on August 30th at 6:00 p.m. against Saint Mary.
