SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Five Evangel Valor tennis athletes were honored earlier this week by being named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team for the 2025 season.
The women led the way with three honorees, juniors Lidia Bjelica, Rachel Chaney, and Maddeline Peters, while the men finished with two honorees, juniors Vinicius Costa and Gabriel Leal.
The 2025 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Tennis Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes tennis honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA — for each gender.
These athletes had to meet several requirements to garner the honor, including performing in 70 percent of team matches, having a 3.50 cumulative GPA, and being a key participant who had significant statistics that helped the team throughout the season.
