  • Madi Bentley took win number ten of the season in game two.

  • Ellie Facklam had a huge day for Evangel at the plate, going 6-7 with seven runs and eight RBIs.

  • Kenna Mayfield stole five bases on Saturday, moving her season total to 44 which is the fourth most in the nation.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Valor offense got after it early in game one, scoring three runs, all coming on an Ellie Facklam home run. Both Kenna Mayfield and Naomi Perkins reached base to score on Facklam's homer.

  • Evangel added four runs in the top of the second to take a 7-0 lead. Camryn Casey walked and scored on a Danielle Cutbirth single, while Mayfield worked a walk, with both runners scoring on an error. Karlie Romines ripped a double to score E. Facklam, making it a 7-0 ballgame.

  • McPherson added a run in the bottom of the third to make it a 7-1 game.

  • Evangel's offense responded with four runs of their own in the top of the fourth. After Mayfield worked a walk, Perkins hit a home run to put EU ahead, 9-1. E. Facklam and Romines both worked walks following the home run, both coming across to score on a wild pitch to put the Valor lead at 11-1.

  • McPherson added a run in the bottom of the fifth, but the damage in game one had been done, as EU took an 11-2 victory.

A walk from Riley Johannes allowed Mayfield to score, while a fielders choice from Karli Facklam scored her sister. A Casey sacrifice fly scored Romines before catcher's interference allowed Johannes to score and a Mayfield double scored both Lauren Dill and K. Facklam.

QUOTABLE
