KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Evangel Baseball traveled to Kansas City on Friday (Mar. 7) afternoon to open their first road conference series of the season, taking on the Eagles of Avila.
The Valor would score first on Friday, but could not keep pace with Avila's offense on the scoreboard, falling 15-2 in seven innings of play.

Shane Poe opened Friday's game with a double, scoring on a wild pitch to give EU a 1-0 lead.

The Eagles scored nine runs from inning one to inning four, taking a 9-1 lead over the Valor.

Clay Palen hit a solo home run in the sixth inning to make it a 9-2 ballgame.

Avila scored six unanswered runs after the Palen home run, as EU could not muster any additional offense, falling 15-2.
