WICHITA, Kan. – Evangel Baseball took on the Friends Falcons on Tuesday (Mar. 11) afternoon, looking to take a win against their conference foe in the midweek doubleheader.
Friends jumped out to an early lead against Evangel in game one, as EU could not recover, falling 11-5. In game two, the Valor took an early 1-0 lead, but the Falcons rallied, forcing EU to fall, 4-1.
HOW IT HAPPENED
	- 
	Friends opened Tuesday by taking a 8-0 lead in game one, forcing the Valor to play from behind the entire game. 
- 
	In the fifth inning, Evangel was able to split their deficit in half, trailing just 8-4. Shane Poe doubled and Evan Baptiste was hit by a pitch before Clay Palen doubled to score Poe. Heath Perry was hit by a pitch, loading the bases for Evangel, and Matthew Olson worked a walk to score Baptiste. Kannon Perry was hit by a pitch to score Palen and a Rhett Hayward single scored H. Perry, making the score 8-4.

	Friends responded by scoring a trio of runs in the bottom of the sixth. 
- 
	Evangel was able to tack on an additional run in the top of the seventh as Peyton Gayer walked and scored on singles from Poe and Baptiste. 
- 
	EU could not score any additional runs in game one, falling 11-5. 
- 
	In game two, Evangel scored the first run of the game, as Gayer worked a walk and scored on an error. 
- 
	The Valor defense held Friends off the scoreboard until the fifth inning, as the Falcons took a 4-1 lead over Evangel. 
- 
	Evangel attempted a rally in the seventh, getting a pair of runners on, but EU was unable to score, falling 4-1. 
NOTABLE
	- 
	Five Valor athletes recorded RBIs on Tuesday. 
- 
	Will Foster pitched 2.2 innings, allowing just four hits in his relief appearance. 
- 
	TJ Newman pitched two innings of no hit ball in game two, striking out three batters.
