SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- After taking a 79-72 road win on Wednesday night, Valor Women's Basketball returned home to host the Panthers of York, looking to move their winning streak to four games. A dominant offensive and defensive performance, where Evangel shot 53 percent and held York to just 30 percent shooting, pushed the Valor to a 100-64 victory on Saturday.

Jazzy Kirby opened scoring for the Valor on Saturday, using a layup to put EU ahead, 2-0. The Panthers were able to score a pair of baskets, but were unable to keep pace with Evangel's offense, as baskets from Resa Martin, Carson Dillard, Ali Kamies, and Alyssa McCarty in the following four minutes ballooned EU's lead to 12, 18-6. Evangel continued to pile on in the quarter, using an Evin Montgomery three pointer to close out the quarter with a 30-12 lead.

Both York and Evangel played a fairly even second quarter, as Destiny Shepherd for York scored 12 points and Emma Mullings for Evangel scored 11. Evangel ended the quarter with free throws to take their largest lead of the first half (21 pts.), with a 51-30 advantage in the halftime break.

Evangel continued to pile on the points in the third quarter, building up a 35 point lead over the Panthers. Carson Dillard scored 10 points in the period alone, paired with 15 bench points to give EU a 83-48 lead, shooting 63.2 percent in the period, their highest of the night.

In the final quarter of play, the Valor were able to cruise to victory, outscoring the Panthers 17-16 to push their way to a 100-64 win, capped off by an Evin Montgomery three pointer to hit the century mark on Saturday afternoon.

"We did a great job attacking the rim early and often today. Our depth was on display as well as no matter who was in, we didn't miss a beat," stated Head Coach Jim Middleton. "It was a fun day! I'm glad we could relax and enjoy the game down the stretch. It was exactly what we needed!"
