SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Evangel Men's Basketball concludes their regular season on Saturday (Feb. 22) afternoon, hosting the Sterling Warriors in a win or go home matchup at 3:00 p.m. Saturday is also senior day, with festivities taking place between the women's and men's contest.
SERIES HISTORY
Evangel will take on Sterling in their seventh all-time matchup, as EU leads all-time, 4-2. The Valor took a big win in Sterling back in January behind a career night from Cade Sutton in a 92-67 win.
OPENING STORYLINES

Evangel fell in their third consecutive game on Thursday to the top ranked team in the KCAC, Oklahoma Wesleyan, 81-54.

Manrique Alvarado led Evangel's charge on Thursday, scoring a team high nine points.

In order for Evangel to earn the final seed in the conference tournament, the Valor will need to defeat Sterling and have Bethany lose on the road to (RV) Friends. A loss on Saturday or Bethany win will end Evangel's 2024-25 season.

Evangel's 51-point showing on Thursday night was the lowest amount of points scored in a game for EU since November 9th of 2021, also against Oklahoma Wesleyan (45-69).
LOOKING AHEAD
Evangel will await Saturday's results to see if they earn the eight seed and travel on Wednesday (Feb. 26) evening for the KCAC Conference Quarterfinals. With a loss, the Valor MBB season will come to an end.
