SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Evangel Men's Basketball returns to action on Thursday (Feb. 20) evening, hosting the (RV) Oklahoma Wesleyan Eagles at 7:00 p.m. in AGFinancial Arena.
SERIES HISTORY
Evangel will take on Oklahoma Wesleyan in their 20th all-time matchup, as EU trails all-time, 9-10. The Valor fell in Bartlesville back in January, 71-103, with Garrett Davault leading the Valor with 16 points.
OPENING STORYLINES

Evangel fell at Bethany on Saturday in a much needed game, 81-85, after fighting back from an early deficit, but coming up just short late in the ballgame.

Garrett Davault led Evangel's charge on Saturday, scoring a team high 19 points.

Davault averages a team high 16.3 points per game, the ninth highest average in the KCAC so far this season.

Senior Manrique Alvarado rounds out double digit scoring averages for EU at 10.4 points per game.

Manrique Alvarado leads the Valor with 4.5 assists per game while Garrett Davault leads the Valor with 5.3 rebounds per game. Defensively, Josh Mason leads the Valor with 1.2 steals per game while Isaac Wootton averages 0.6 blocks per game.

Evangel has not lost to Oklahoma Wesleyan at home since 2021.

The Valor currently sit at eighth in the KCAC standings, while OKWU is in first. A win for EU would keep the Valor a game ahead of Bethany and Sterling, heading into the final game of the regular season.
LOOKING AHEAD
Evangel competes in their final regular season game on Saturday (Feb. 22) afternoon, taking on the Sterling College Warriors in a win or go home matchup, as the winner will clinch the final spot for the conference tournament that begins next Wednesday.
