Evangel WBB Returns Home to Host Bethel on Saturday

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Evangel Women's Basketball hosts the Bethel College Threshers on Saturday (Feb. 1) afternoon at 12:00 p.m. after a three game road trip, looking to open the final month of regular season play with a win.

SERIES HISTORY

Evangel will take on Bethel in their third all-time matchup, as Evangel leads all-time, 2-0. In their last matchup with the Threshers, the Valor were victorious on the road, 78-58. Carson Dillard scored 16 points to pace the Valor in their road win after a big fourth quarter where EU outscored BC by 12.

OPENING STORYLINES

  • Evangel bounced back with a strong road overtime victory on Wednesday, 101-90, over the Ottawa Braves. Ali Kamies scored a career high 33 points in the win.

  • Carson Dillard (18 pts.), Lydia Babirye (12 pts.), and Micah Clayton (10 pts.) rounded out double digit scoring in Wednesday's win.

  • Evangel shot 49.3 percent from the floor on Wednesday, outshooting the Braves who hit 41.1 percent of their shots.

  • Ali Kamies leads the Valor offensively so far this season, averaging 12.8 points per game, while Carson Dillard (12.3) rounds out double digit scoring averages.

  • Kamie Jenkins leads the Valor in rebounds per game, averaging 9.9 boards per game. 

  • Evangel is currently tied for fifth in the conference standings while Bethel is tied for third.

LOOKING AHEAD

Evangel hits the road on Wednesday (Feb. 5) evening at 5:30 p.m., taking on the Spires of Saint Mary in another matchup with potential conference tournament seeding implications.
