WICHITA, Kan. – Valor Women's Soccer took part in their second consecutive road game of the year, traveling to Wichita on Wednesday (Sept. 25) evening to take on the Friends Falcons. Evangel's offensive woes continued, as the Valor were held scoreless in their third consecutive game, falling 2-0.

Evangel's Alece Hershey put the first shot on goal in the entire match, nearly scoring at the 10:38 mark. Despite recording the first shot in the game, Evangel generated just one additional shot attempt in the half, coming from Makayla Myers, that ultimately went high. The Falcons got on the board in the first half, scoring to take a 1-0 lead over Evangel at the 34:30 mark of the half, trailing 1-0 at halftime.

The Valor came out of the halftime break with a shot on goal from McKenzie Calhoun, but Calhoun's shot was the only attempt of the second half for Evangel, as Friends was able to add a goal to their final total, forcing EU to take a 2-0 loss on Wednesday in Wichita.

HIGHLIGHTS

QUOTABLE

"While I understand we fell short on the scoreline tonight, I am very proud with how the ladies played this evening. They played at a much higher level, one of their best performances of the season against a very good team. We asked them to play more aggressively on both sides of the ball and they absolutely did that," Women's Soccer Head Coach Bruce Deaton stated. "We hate losing and unfortunately we are dealing with that right now, but I can say without hesitation, I was pleased with our performance.   I know if we can stay at this level of play, the breakthrough is right there for us to obtain!!"
