JOPLIN, Mo. – Valor Men's Soccer hit the road on Friday (Sept. 13) afternoon, taking on NCCAA Ozark Christian College in search of their fourth win of the season. Evangel used a strong overall game, dominating from start to finish in a 5-0 win over the Ambassadors.
Evangel opened Friday's game by getting on the board on a score from Andrea Fincato, assisted by Moritz Hofmeyer to put EU ahead, 1-0. Just over two minutes later, Rem Harmsworth, who was playing in his first game of the season after injury, scored his first goal of the season. Rem scored on a pass from Fincato, putting the Valor ahead, 2-0. Lucas Arias was able to score the third goal of the half just moments later, giving the Valor a 3-0 halftime lead.
Evangel continued their strong offensive attack in the second half, as Caleb Kuchta scored on a pass from Ruben Gonzalez. Andrea Fincato scored his second goal of the night and capped off scoring for EU with 18 minutes remaining in the match, giving EU a 5-0 lead on a pass from Juyong Kim. The Valor defense continued to shut the Ambassadors down, as EU took a shutout 5-0 win on Friday.
