Valor MBB Hosts Sterling in Search of Eighth Consecutive Win

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Valor Men's Basketball concludes their home stand on Saturday (Feb. 17) afternoon, taking on the Sterling College Warriors.

Tip-off is set for 5:00 p.m., as Evangel looks to continue their season winning streak and break their losing streak to Sterling.

SERIES HISTORY

Evangel and Sterling are tied in their series matchup, 2-2, as the Valor are currently on a two-game losing streak against the Warriors.

OPENING STORYLINES

  • Evangel concludes their home stand on Saturday (Feb. 17) afternoon, taking on the Sterling College Warriors at 5:00 p.m., as Evangel looks to take their eighth consecutive win of the season.

  • Valor Men's Basketball earned their seventh consecutive win on Wednesday, taking down the Bethany Swedes, 90-75.

  • Evangel is currently 4-0 in the month of February with just three regular season games remaining.

  • Josh Pritchett had a strong game for Evangel on Wednesday, scoring 22 points and passing off 10 assists. The 10 assists were the most by a single Valor athlete since the 21-22 season, when Pritchett had 10 assists against Park.

  • Jace Coffie (19 pts., tied career high), Josh Mason (14 pts.), Garrett Davault (12 pts.) and Bryce Hunt (11 pts.) rounded out double digit scoring for the Valor on Wednesday.

  • Jace Coffie pulled down a team high seven rebounds on Wednesday evening.

  • Four Valor athletes average double digit scoring so far this season, with Josh Pritchett leading the charge with 15.6 points per game.

  • The Valor have had a strong offense so far this season, averaging 82.8 points per game and shooting 48.9 percent from the floor, but are allowing 78.7 points per game.

  • Pritchett ranks in the EU record book in several different categories. Josh currently is 2nd in Evangel history in assists (526) and steals (218), 5th in scoring (1,939), 6th in blocks (74), as well as in three point makes (211).

  • Evangel's win against the Bethany Swedes was the 2nd all-time in program history, as Evangel leads, 2-0.

LOOKING AHEAD

Evangel Men's Basketball hits the road on Wednesday (Feb. 21) evening, taking on the Ottawa Braves in their final road regular season match of the season at 7:30 p.m.
