Valor MBB Set to Host Bethany on Wednesday Evening

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Valor Men's Basketball returns to the friendly confines of the Ashcroft Center on Wednesday (Feb. 14) evening, taking on the Bethany Swedes.

Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m., as Evangel looks to continue their strong play of late and earn their seventh consecutive win.

SERIES HISTORY

Evangel and Bethany match up for just the second time in program history as EU took the win earlier this season, 72-61.

OPENING STORYLINES

  • Evangel returns home on Wednesday (Feb. 14) evening, taking on the Bethany Swedes, looking for their seventh consecutive win.

  • Valor Men's Basketball earned their sixth consecutive win on Saturday, taking down the Avila Eagles, 79-62.

  • Evangel currently has winning records in every month of play except October (0-1) and January (4-5).

  • Garrett Davault led the Valor with 19 points in the win over Avila on Saturday.

  • Josh Pritchett (15 pts.), Josh Mason (11 pts.), and Carson Cavalier (11 pts.) rounded out double digit scoring for the Valor on Saturday.

  • Garrett Davault and Josh Pritchett both nearly recorded double-doubles on Saturday, pulling down eight rebounds each.

  • Four Valor athletes average double digit scoring so far this season, with Josh Pritchett leading the charge with 15.3 points per game.

  • The Valor have had a strong offense so far this season, averaging 82.5 points per game and shooting 48.5 percent from the floor, but are allowing 78.8 points per game.

  • Pritchett ranks in the EU record book in several different categories. Josh currently is 2nd in Evangel history in assists (516), tied for third in steals (214), 5th in scoring (1,917), 6th in blocks (73), as well as 6th in three point makes (211).

  • Evangel's win against the Avila Eagles was the 51st all-time in program history, as Evangel leads, 51-19.

  • Evangel currently sits in fourth in the KCAC. If the season were to end today, the Valor would host McPherson in the first round of the conference tournament.

LOOKING AHEAD

Evangel Men's Basketball concludes their home stand and competes in their penultimate home game of the season on Saturday (Feb. 17) afternoon, taking on the Sterling College Warriors.
