SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Evangel Men's Basketball hits the road for their final game in 2024, taking on the Missouri Baptist Spartans at 3:00 p.m. in St. Louis, Mo., on Friday, Dec. 20th.
SERIES HISTORY
Evangel will take on Missouri Baptist in their 26th all-time matchup, as EU leads all-time, 18-7. The Valor were victorious less than a month ago, 89-76, against the Spartans, behind a balanced scoring game.
OPENING STORYLINES

Evangel fell in their second non-conference game of the season, 64-73, against the MACU Evangels, after scoring just 26 points in the second half.

Garrett Davault and Bryce Ware led the Valor in scoring on Tuesday, both putting up 11 points, while Manrique Alvarado rounded out double digit scoring for the Valor with 10 in the loss.

The Valor offense shot 44.8 percent from the floor in the first half of Tuesday night's contest, but shot just 32.2 percent, making just 10 shots in the second half.

Evangel improved their shooting in the loss from long range, as nearly half of Evangel's makes from the floor were three pointers (11 made threes, 23 made baskets).

The Valor average 32.0 rebounds per game and are outrebounded by an average of three rebounds per game.

Evangel opponents shoot 46.6 percent against EU, the 2nd highest mark allowed in KCAC, but the Valor have one of the best three point defenses in the conference, allowing just 31 percent of makes.
LOOKING AHEAD
Evangel will enjoy their Christmas break and return to action on January 4th, 2025, taking on the McPherson Bulldogs in McPherson, Kan., at 2:00 p.m.
