SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Evangel Women's Basketball travels to Hillsboro, Kansas, on Saturday (Nov. 23) afternoon to take on the Tabor College Bluejays at 2:00 p.m., looking to take a win against the preseason conference favorites.

SERIES HISTORY

Evangel will take on Tabor in their third all-time matchup, as the Valor trail all-time, 0-2. In their last matchup with Tabor, the Valor fell on the road in a double overtime matchup, 67-68.

OPENING STORYLINES

• Evangel was victorious in their last home matchup, 82-62, over conference foe Avila, earning their first win of the season.

• Against Avila, the Valor were led by sophomore center Kamie Jenkins, who scored 13 points, as well as freshman guard Evin Montgomery, who also added 13 points to Evangel's total.

• The Valor shot 43.9 percent from the floor in their win against Avila, their highest percentage at home this season.

• Carson Dillard leads the Valor offensively so far this season, averaging 11.4 points per game, while Jenkins (11.2) rounds out double digit scoring averages. Jenkins also averages 10 rebounds per contest.

• Evangel was picked to finish fourth in the KCAC preseason poll, with Tabor picked to defend their conference title, finishing first.

• Tabor is currently tied for first in the conference while Evangel is tied for sixth.

LOOKING AHEAD

Evangel returns home to host the Williams Baptist Eagles on Monday (Nov. 25) evening at 5:30 p.m. in their Salvation Army Food Drive day. Anyone who donates a pair of canned food items will receive free entry into Monday night's home game.
