SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Evangel Women's Basketball heads to Winfield, Kansas, on Saturday (Jan. 20) afternoon, to take on the Southwestern College Moundbuilders.
Tip-off for Saturday's game is set for 2:00 p.m. in the Stewart Field House with the Valor looking to continue their strong play in the month of January against the winless Moundbuilders.
SERIES HISTORY
Evangel and Southwestern will compete in their third match all-time against each other, as EU looks to remain perfect, currently holding a 2-0 record against SWC. EU took a victory over Southwestern back in the 2021-22 season, 87-65, in Sterling, Kansas.

The Valor rebounded by defeating the Bethel Threshers on Wednesday, 66-51, at home.

Evangel currently holds a 9-5 record overall and are 7-4 in the KCAC. The Valor are tied at fourth in the conference with Bethany and Kansas Wesleyan, but do not hold tiebreakers against either team.

Despite Kamie Jenkins having her consecutive double-double streak broken last Saturday, she bounced back in a huge way, leading the Valor with 25 points (career high) and 18 rebounds on Wednesday evening.

Micah Clayton is the second leading scorer for the Valor so far this season, scoring 9.1 points per game.

The Valor are 7th in the nation in offensive rebounding, currently averaging 16.9 per game.

Lydia Babirye recorded double-digit scoring in the win on Wednesday night, scoring 12 points and nearly posting a double-double with nine rebounds.

Evangel Women's Basketball returns home for another primetime Wednesday matchup, hosting the Friends Falcons at 5:30 p.m. in the Ashcroft Center on Jan. 24th.
