SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Valor Men's Basketball hits the road on Saturday (Jan. 20) afternoon, taking on the ninth-ranked Moundbuilders of Southwestern College.
Tip-off is set for 4:00 p.m., in the Stewart Field House in Winfield, Kansas, as Evangel looks to take their first win over a ranked opponent this season.

Valor Men's Basketball recorded their first win in the month of January on Wednesday, defeating the Bethel Threshers in a high scoring affair, 95-89.

The month of January has not been friendly to the Valor, as they are currently 1-4, but can still finish the month above .500, by winning out.

Josh Pritchett recorded his season high in scoring on Wednesday, putting up 24 points in the win.

Garrett Davault (19 pts.), Josh Mason (12 pts.) and Carson Cavalier (11 pts.) recorded double digit scoring for the Valor against the Threshers.

Three Valor athletes average double digit scoring so far this season, with Josh Pritchett leading the charge with 14.4 points per game.

The Valor have had a strong offense so far this season, averaging 81.1 points per game and shooting 47.6 percent from the floor, but are allowing 78.8 points per game.

Pritchett ranks in the EU record book in several different categories. Josh currently is 2nd in Evangel history in assists (482), 4th in steals (191), 5th in scoring (1,785), 7th in blocks (71), as well as 8th in three point makes (198).

Evangel's win against Bethel on Wednesday was the fourth against the Threshers in program history, as EU is now 4-0 against BC.

The Valor will compete in their seventh road conference game of the season on Saturday, having spent most of the year traveling for conference games.

Evangel will look to move to .500 overall in road games this season with a win, as they currently tout a 4-5 road record.

Evangel Men's Basketball will return home to host the Friends Falcons on Wednesday (Jan. 24) evening at 7:30 p.m. in the Ashcroft Center.
