YORK, Neb. – Valor Men's Soccer traveled to York, Nebraska, on Saturday (Oct. 28) afternoon, looking to end their 2023 season on a high note against the York Panthers. Playing through cold weather conditions, Evangel dominated most of the game, but could not score a goal in the match. York would score a goal on a penalty kick, which proved to be the difference in the game, as EU fell, 1-0.

Evangel used the first half to dominate on the offensive end, recording six shots in the first half and putting pressure on the York defense. The Valor had nice opportunities from Rem Harmsworth and Junior Barboza, but were unable to score in the first half, as both teams played to a scoreless tie at the halftime break.

Evangel's defense played well in the second half, not allowing York to have a solid chance at goal. A foul in the box gave York their goal at the 58:51 mark on a penalty kick. The Valor would allow just one shot after the York goal. Rem Harmsworth kept up the offensive pressure for Evangel, but the Valor were unable to record a goal in the match, falling 1-0, in the regular season finale.
