SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Evangel men's tennis team claimed their second overall victory of the season on Saturday (Mar. 5), beating University of the Ozarks by a narrow margin, 4-3.

Evangel was swept in doubles play on Saturday. Sidney Dollar and Jacob Grosz were defeated by UofO's Haruto Kanskau and Hikaru Yimaya (5-7). Daryl Wong and James McIlwraith were taken down by Aaron Gambrell and TJ Saniseng (5-7). UofO claimed the final doubles matchup of the afternoon with a 3-6 win by Joshua Wilde and Griffin Huckelbury over Andres Robles and Jarrett Teel.

The Valor won four singles matchups to claim the overall victory. Dollar took down Kanskau, 7-5, 6-2. Grosz swept Yimaya, 6-0, 6-0. Wong took down Theodoros Efstathopoulos in a close matchup, 4-6, 6-2, 11-9. McIlwraith took the victory in the final matchup against Gambrell, 3-6, 6-2, 10-4. Teel (1-6, 0-6) and Robles (5-7, 2-6) both lost their singles matchups.
