Springfield, Mo. – Central Methodist used a 10-0 run midway through the first half to pull away from Evangel and pick up a 76-59 win at the Ashcroft Center Thursday.
Evangel trailed 40-21 at halftime and trailed by as much as 22 but the Crusaders pulled within 13 with eight minutes remaining.
The Eagles shot 56 percent from the floor hitting 27 of 48 shots. Morgan Vetter led all scorers with 22.
Amanda Landolt had a season high 16 points for Evangel on 6 of 8 shooting from the field.
Evangel dropped to 5-18 and 4-11 in the Heart of America conference. Central Methodist improved to 14-11 and 5-10 in the league.
Evangel travels to Baker on Saturday for their next game. Tipoff is 2 p.m. in Baldwin City, Kansas.
