Crusaders fall at home to College of the Ozarks

Springfield, Mo. – College of the Ozarks fought off an Evangel rally in the second half and won their tenth straight game with an 86-75 win over the Crusaders at the Ashcroft Center. 

The Crusaders came from 11 points down in the second half to lead 62-61 with 8:26 left. The two teams traded leads until the Bobcats got a free throw from Skyler Frazier to go up by one with 3:18 to play and moments later an Ethan Murray three-pointer gave College of the Ozarks a four-point lead. 

College of the Ozarks shot 55 percent from the field going 34 for 62 while connecting on 9 of 18 three-point attempts. Frazier finished with 22 points and Murray added 21. 

Evangel got 21 points from Richard Chapman. The junior from Houston, Texas had 18 in the second half while going 6 for 13 from the floor. 

The loss was Evangel's fifth straight and dropped them to 1-9, their worst start to a season since 1995-96. College of the Ozarks improved to 10-1. 

Evangel is idle until Dec. 17 when the face Southeaster (Fla.) in the first game of the Assemblies of God Classic in Waxahachie, Texas.
