Fayette, Missouri – Evangel women's basketball stumbled on the road with a 80-51 loss at Central Methodist University.
Reggine Brown led Evangel in scoring with 14 points and added 10 rebounds for Crusaders. Allison Swanson added 12 points on 5-7 shooting, and Taylor Longley added 12 points and five rebounds in the loss.
The Eagles were led by Jesse Ellis with a game high 22 points and eight rebounds. Morgan Vetter added 18 points on 6-12 shooting and 5-10 from beyond the arc in the win.
The Crusaders shot 30% from the field and were 1 for 12 from three point land. Central Methodist shot 48% from the field, and 42% from three. The Crusaders were outrebounded by the Eagles 40-36, and lost the turnover battle 17-15. The Crusaders shot 18-26 (62.2%) from the free throw line, while the Eagles shot 16-19 (84.2%).
The Crusaders drop to 4-9 on the season and 3-2 in conference play. The Central Methodist improves to 9-5, and 2-3 in the HAAC.
Evangel will be in action again this Saturday at the Ashcroft Center to take on Baker University. Game time is 2:00pm
