Evangel plays #19 Campbellsville in home opener: Evangel hosts 19th ranked Campbellsville (Ky.) in their 58th home opener Thursday night in the Ashcroft Center.

The Crusaders are ranked #20 in the NAIA-I preseason poll and are off to a 1-1 start. Evangel opened the year with a 91-79 loss at 6th ranked St. Gregory's (Okla.) last Friday but bounced back to win Saturday over Science & Arts (Okla.) 88-67.

Campbellsville (Ky.) is 2-0 and ranked 19th in NAIA-I. The Tigers opened the year Friday with a 71-61 win over defending Heart of America conference champion Benedictine 71-61. The Tigers followed that with a Saturday win at home over St. Thomas (Fla.) 67-65.

The two teams are meeting for only the second time ever. Evangel won at Campbellsville in 2010 in the only meeting between the two teams.

Evangel is home against next Tuesday hosting College of the Ozarks. The women's teams play at 5:30 p.m. followed by the men's game at 7:30 p.m.
