Evangel Volleyball Unable to Finish Rally in 5-Set Loss to Graceland

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Evangel volleyball team was unable to finish off Graceland Friday night falling, 3-2, in Heart Conference action.

The Crusaders jumped out to an early lead taking the first and third sets. However, Graceland took advantage of Evangel miscues in the fourth set and rallied back itself in the fifth for the win.

Evangel was paced by Daisy Eklund who tallied 14 kills as Tori Lowry earned a double-double with 13 kills and 23 digs. Kristen Johnson also finished in double figures with 10 kills and a .250 hitting percentage. 

McKenna Miller totaled 40 assists for Evangel and added nine digs on the defensive side of the net. Eryn Russell added 28 digs, while Ciera Reyes and Johnson earned two blocks each.

Evangel continues its homestand Saturday with an 11 a.m. match against Peru State.
