Evangel Volleyball Drops Tough Road Match at Clarke, 3-1

DUBUQUE, Iowa – The Evangel volleyball team was unable to keep pace Friday night falling 3-1 at Clarke University in Heart Conference action.

The Crusaders fell behind early to the hot-hitting Pride dropping the first two sets. Evangel rallied back to take the third set before falling in a close fourth set on the road.

Bridget Petersen returned to form with 12 kills to lead the way for Evangel and posting a .476 hitting percentage. Petersen was also dangerous on the defensive side of the net with five blocks.

Daisy Eklund added 11 kills for the Crusaders while Victoria Fishback tallied 21 assists to pace the offense.

Eryn Russell posted 21 digs, while Tori Lowry just missed a double-double with 12 digs and nine kills.

Evangel continues road action in Iowa on Saturday traveling to Mount Mercy. The Crusaders and Mustangs are scheduled to start at 12 p.m.
