KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The Evangel men's soccer team was slated to finish 11th in the 2019 Heart Coaches' Preseason Poll released on Wednesday.
The Heart of America Athletic Conference was once again the toughest league in the nation as Central Missouri bested Missouri Valley in the national championship game last season. CMU was picked first as the Vikings were picked second after winning the postseason tournament trophy a year ago.
Evangel finished last season under first-year head coach Jeff Reinold 2-13-2 overall. Reinold has brought in 13 new faces for the 2019 season to go with several returning players.
The Crusaders start the 2019 season on the road at Missouri Baptist on Aug. 21. Evangel will play its first home match Aug. 27 against Harris-Stowe at 4 p.m. on Coryell Field.
