OLATHE, Kan. – The Evangel men's basketball team was unable to overcome a hot-shooting MidAmerica Nazarene team, falling 95-77 in Heart of America Athletic Conference action.

The Crusaders managed to hang with the Pioneers in the first half trailing by just four, 40-36. However, MNU shot a blistering 57 percent from the field and 50 percent behind the three-point line knocking down 10 three-pointers to seal the win.

Evangel was led by 18 points from Dylan Bekemeier as Braden Adams and Justin Washington each finished with 15 points. Washington pulled down nine rebounds and five assists to match five assists from Bekemeier as well.

Jonathan Green scored a game-high 33 points for the Pioneers on 14-of-18 shooting from the field.

MNU also out-rebounded Evangel 49-35. The loss also keeps Evangel winless on the road at 0-8 this season.

The Crusaders head north for a matchup with Grand View. Tipoff from Des Moines, Iowa, is scheduled for 4 p.m.
