ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Evangel men's basketball team fell, 86-64 at Missouri Baptist Monday night in non-conference action.
The Crusaders faced another hot shooting team as the Spartans shot over 50 percent in the win. The loss was the first this season for Evangel of more than six points as well.
Evangel trailed Missouri Baptist, 43-37 at intermission and the Spartans used a big second half to pull away from the Crusaders. MBU also out-rebounded Evangel 44-34.
Offensively, Braden Adams led Evangel with 18 points as he was the only player in double figures. Adams also knocked down four three-pointers in the loss. Jalen Norman was held scoreless but led the Crusaders in rebounding pulling down seven boards.
Missouri Baptist was led by Pablo Hernandez who tied Adams' game-high 18 points.
Evangel heads south for a rematch with John Brown Friday as part of the John Brown Classic on Friday and Saturday. Tipoff against the Golden Eagles is scheduled for 8 p.m.
